Boats, Bangor Marina, CoDown

LIMITED EDITION PRINTS AVAILABLE
BOATS BANGOR MARINA
A medium sized oil painting on box canvas. Enjoyed trying to capture the essence of Bangor Marina. A bit more gestural and simplified. I am finding that simplification is somehow more complicated but fun to paint.
This painting is available as a strictly limited edition A3 digital print on 250 gsm white paper, professionally printed in Co.Down.

Castlerock Beach, Ireland

Painted on Castlerock Beach....Mussenden Temple in the hill....especially nice early in the morning....whenever you are the only one on it....with the occasional person walking past every half an hour or so.
Enjoyed trying to capture the hazy purple headland in the distance...lovely light up there. A small oil painting on canvas.

Old Painting Rediscovered

Found one of my old paintings from the early 90s in my mums shed. It was wrapped in cardboard.
I hadnt seen it for at least 15 years...thought I would share it with you. Interesting how times have changed...this was produced in a pre- tarantino, facebook, google, iphone, ipad era.
And for the classic car fans...it is painted on a 1970's Citroen 2CV boot lid.

St Comgalls Chapel, Bangor, CoDown

A recent oil painting of St Comgalls Chapel. I enjoyed trying to capture the colouring of the stone. It is not until you study the facade that you realise how many different shades are within the stonework. The curves of the arched doorways and windows are enjoyable to try to capture in oil paint also.

Hi-Tops & Sneekers,

Hi-Tops and Sneekers sketched in my local shopping centre. Although I prefer the older phrase 'Baseball Boots and Gutties'. This fashion outlet has now sadly closed.
